The Allied authorities in the Occupation Zone, have seized sixty-one million marks sent by the Disconto Gcsellsehaft to Alayence for strike payments, also securities valued at two hundred million marks, sent by a bank to Hamburg, en route to America. NOTE TO GERMANY. BRUSSELS, Feb.-lt> The Foreign Afinister has sent the German Charge d’Affairs note in consequence of the orders of the German Government to officials in Ruhr, and disturbances which the German Government is trying to there. The Franco-llelgian Government have decided not to allow metallurgical and other products, manufactured in tho occupied territories, to he exported to the unoccupied portion oi Germany, as from 12th February. TANKS AND CAVALRY USED. LONDON. February 11. At Recklinghausen, tanks have taken the place of the arrested lice patrols in the streets throughout the night. Serious disturbances are frequent and finally it was necessary to employ cavalry to restore order. The French so far have failed to secure the stock of anus ammunition in the hands of the populace.

RHINELAND STRIKES. PARTS, February 11. Dusseklorf reports state 30 textile factories at Barmen-EVberfeld have closed owing to the stoppage of deliveries. Thirteen arrests were made at Alayence. including the Director of the local branch of the Disconto Bank for supply money to strikers. Two hundred million marks deposited in a bank at Treves as a strikers’ fund have been confiscated. GERMAN' HEAD OF RHINELAND. BERLIN. February -12. _ The French expelled Ilerr Haeiis£, an ex-Cabinet Alinister who had been appointed German Commissioner of the Rhineland. GOVERNMENT set UP AT. MEATEL. PARIS, February 11 • A new Government Council has been formed at Memel. comprising five Meinelitcs. three Lithuanians, and two Germans. A mixed force of Allied and native police has been termed. The insurgents have returned to Lithuania. Order has been completely restored.

Tho Germans are doing their utmost to exert diplomatic action against the occupation.
