The Northern Government stated it has received information that the-iSSS-'V, publicans are preparing a great incendiary campaign in Belfast- and in tho six counties (Ulster) area. A number of prominent Irregulars has arrived in Ulster. The police captured some incendiary material. RECALCITRANT REPUBLICANS?-—’ ~ (Received this dav at 8 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 1» Mr O’Higgins Inis issued a statement emphasising that De Valera definitely abandoned the Republic yihen lie drafted Document No. 2, with »Its oat it, and a yearly money tribute to the British King as an ideal settlement. Consequently, De Valera had no right to use the Republic as an excuse for plundering the Irish people and burning homes. De Valera, having sold the Republic, was now willing to wade through Mood, arguing about the price, rather than allow the nation’s peace to be shattered and the British to return with a title the,v..--never possessed. Betore the Ur— c State would sue for peace, they would use force to the utmost. A Republican communique says its army is stronger than ever despite the Free Staters efforts to undermine its discipline. The war will continue until Ireland’s independence is recognised bv its enemies, foreign and doniostic. The Republicans blew up the press which printed the Free State’s offer o fan amnesty. DE VALERA’S COUNTER TERMS. (Received this dav at S a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10. The Sunday “Express” understands De Valera intends accepting the terms suggested by Dea-sy, conditionally on a general election being held oil one clear issue whether Ireland be a Free State or a Republic.
