G It is announced that the United States Government intends to build another canal in the vicinity of the Panama Canal, with the profit dorivet I from the latter. The plan will not he carried out for some time. NEW YORK, Feb. <> The “New York Times” Washington correspondent stales: The C abine gave serious consideration to the possible construction of another Atlanticl’aeifie canal in the vicinity of the Panama Canal, the traffic through which has so increased during the iceent months that the facilities may > soon he inadequate for all vessels requiring transhipment. The tolls received have increased 50 per cimt within one year. It is also felt that the larger liners would he uliable to go through the Panama. Provision would be made for such liners in this new canal, which probably will take a route through Nicaragua with wl.mn a. treaty exists, giving the neeessa.j right of way. k
