FIRE TRAGEDY PARTICULARS. NELSON. Feb. 7. In connection with the Ligar Bay fire tragedy, definite details show the lire occurred in daylight, not during the night. Thomas Organ lit a lire in the kitchen .stove and went out to milk shortly alter six in the morning. A howling gale was blowing at the time. The eowsln-d was seventy yards away. A quarter of an hour alter. Organ noticed the house in llames. He rushed home but was too late to save tlie victims, John Gillynrd, aged 70. and the six-year-old daughter of Organ. They slept in rooms downstairs, adjoining tlie kitchen. Mrs Organ and two younger children were also downstairs, hut further away. Mrs Organ got out with two infants and made for the side window where Gillynrd and the oldest girl slept. Gillynrd came to the window and exclaimed, "Oh my God,” and went Lack into the room. I’hm was the last seen of him alive. The bodies of Gillynrd and the girl were found together charred to cinders. I lie old man. evidently dazed, had endeavoured to rescue the girl and both succumbed to the flames, lee building was over forty years old and very dry. The gale had blown live embers into tlie room and the whole place wa ablaze in a fmv minutes. Gillynrd came originally from the Vies*, (met. Organ is a returned soldier. A DOCTOR’S SELECTION.
