A further extension of prohibition sentiment in Latin America is foreseen in the announcement of the agenda of tlu‘ furthcoming Pan-Ann riCiin Conference in March. which provides for the consideration of n measure to secure the progressive diminution of the consumption of alcoholic Leverages. The United States at present is tht only country to participate in having nation-wide prohibition, hutvarious other Central and South American countries have partial prohibition. In Chile ami Pern there is an extremely active campaign in favour of prohibition, being carried out. I here is a law prohibiting the sale of lupinron Saturday and Sunday, and always in mining regions. Other l.atinAmerican nations also have laws for the restriction of the sale ol intoxication beverages. It is expected the conference will result in a programme of further restrict ions.
