Out of this fund, an anility of 21 per cent of the income of the residuary trust will he paid to Lady Northel iffe during her widowhood ; X per cent to Lord Northelilfe’s mother; and other small percentages to his sisters and brothers. The excutors are directed to pay generous legacies and annuities, from a special legacy fund, to writers and others who helped to establish the Northelilfe Press; and to his private secretaries. One thousand pounds is to be given to every director of Nortliclilfe’s’ Companies, and CSO to each “Father of the Chapel” in the printing depart ments. STRIKE BATTLE IN MEXICO. NEW YORK, Feb. 2 The “New York Times” Mexico City correspondent says : Fourteen men were killed and thirty wounded in a light between trill near strikers and soldiers, who were guarding' certain tramears that were under operation by some strikers who had accepted a settlement which is not: satisfactory to the other members of their union.
Street lighting ensued, when the strikers fired upon, the soldiers, and a battle raged in the street for many hours. Business houses were shut for the day, and large contingents of troops were called out to guard the streets. A general strike was declared after the lighting.
