ADIMNCTON STOCK MAHKET

A GOOD SALE. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. .Messrs H. Matson and Co., roport as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store sheep. A large entry and good sale throughout. Best sound mouth ewes, ffOs to 365. he At 2-tooth ewes up to 36s Od. agetl and inferior hs to 245. best rape lambs 24s to 28* 2d, others from 17* to 235. Best store wethers up to 28s fid. others from 22s to 20s. The market was -very firm with a keen demand for all classes.
Store cattle.—The largest yarding for some considerable time, all classes were well represented. The market showed a decided improvement all round, especially for any well-grown good conditioned steers, 4-year old steers £0 os to £7 ss. 3-vr. steers £5 to £6 6s. 2-yr. steers £3 os to Cl 7s fid. yearlings 25* to 32s fid. 2-vr heifers £3 •>.- to £4 15s. yearlings 35s to 3i* fill, cow* 3os to £2 12s fid. Pigs.- A small entry ol porkers and also ‘bacinier*. The demand wa* good and pr'ces advanced on la*t week s rates. Light-porkers £2 5s to £2 12s. heavy £2 15s fid to £3. The average price was 7d to i LI. Light haeoners, £3 is fid to £3 18s fid. heavy £4 to Cl 8s fid. The average price was fid to fiVd. Store pigs. Following on better prices for haeoners, store pigs hardened and for good sized pigs showed an advtines.* of os to (1* on late rates. Values were, \v**atiers Us to 18s. small stores o*ts to 3 Is. .medium A's t* * -Pis. large i«> 48s. Beef. The largest yarding for some considerable I inn .over 500 head being yarded. The entry included a large proportion ol interior cows, and heifers, also several lint* of good stuil. 'I he market opened a good deal easier than lasi week and remained so throughout. Towards lln end all sales wen* hard to make. Heavy weights so Hired more in comparison than lighter weights. The yarding included several l<u* of West Coast lamb*, which sold w'll. The nv. rag, overall price was lOd to 10id.
