LOAN POLL.

PROPOSAL TO BORROW £6OOO. CARRIED BY SMALL MAJORITY. The proposal of the Hokitika Borough Council to borrow the sum ot £6OOO for street improvements and drainage works was voted on yesterday. There was not a great deal of interest shown in the poil, only 328 ratepayers recording their votes, and there was only a majority of 16 in favour of tile proposal. The returning officer (Mr A. A.
