By the death of Air Martin Pryor, another old identity has been removed from the district. The late Mr Pryor was horn in 'Cornwall GO years ago and came to New Zealand with his parents when an infant. For a number of years lie followed ihe pursuit of mining in Rccfton. AA’estern Australia and in Ross, and later conducted a general store here for a number of years, lie was of a quiet disposition, a man of sterling character ami highly respected by all with whom he came in contact. He was also a prominent member of the Masonic Lodge. Afr Pryor leaves six sisters and three brothers, to wlmm the sympathy of the general public will he extended. The sisters are Alesdaiucs Broun and Bolitho of Rccfton, Mrs AA'illiams (Tasmania), Mrs K. Jones. Mrs AY. Dotlnff and Mrs K. Mitchell of Ross. The brothers are Joseph, of Ohakune, Sampson and Thomas of Ross. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon and was largely attended. the Rev Purehas olliciating at the graveside. Airs Healey and Airs S. Evans, old Hussites. hut now of AA'ellingtoti, are at preser.i spending a short holiday in Ross renewing old acquaintances. Afr Ken AI ay 'of Stuart and Chapman Ltd), returned home on Saturday night* a tier spending several weeks holiday on the East Coast. The Ross schools have decided to join in with Hokitika school in their excursion io Runauga on 7th Eehrna rv.
