A number of other unions will he represented during tin' course of flu* next, feu davs. There is a fairly lengthy order paper concerning a variety of matters connected with waterside labour and the present and future position of industrial matters as affecting waterside workers.
The President delivered his annual report concerning the work ol the past year, and touched upon a number of important industrial matters. He gave a general review of labour in New Zealand and oilier countries. The report was adopted. The secretary < -Mr .1. Roberts), in his annual report, dealt with the business of the federation, and then presented the annual balance-sheet-, which after discussion, was unanimously adopted.
AY A ITO.AIO SEAT PETITION. TE KITH. Jan. 13 Despite the telegraphed contradiction, Afr AA’. T. Jennings lodged a petition at Pi.lo to-day, praying lor a scrutiny of all the votes east in the AA'ailomo electorate, and for the voiding of the election. Mr Jennings refuses to state the grounds of the petition, hut it is understood that: it arises out .of the Magisterial re-count, at which, it is supposed, till the votes made by declaration, numbering some 70 odd. were rejected.
