At the New South Wales swimming championship meeting the hundred yards resulted: AV. Harris (Hawaii) I. W. Herald 2. IT. Hay 3. It was a great race throughout, and an exciting finish. Harris won only hy a. touch. The time was 57 1-5 seconds. Half-mile. —A .Charleton 1. N. Ohiistie 2. A. Wilkes 3. Charlton went a w ay from the jump and easily outdistanced the other competitors. He won hy one hundred yards. Tie put up a world's record time of 11 min 5 1-osec. This feat is specially meritorious, as Charlton is only fifteen and a half years’ old. Harris, who did not compete, described il as easily the most wonderful race he had ever seen. Hundred yards backstroke championship. Tv. Kirkland 1. S. Hock 2, I Cnrherrv 3. Time 1.1 I 4-5.
