I.loyds Register states shipbuilding returns show merchant tonnage under construction at 31st December was 315 vessels aggregating 1/108,009 gross homage, including 318,000 on which work was suspended, thus the total actiiallv building was 1.120,000 which is 770.000 below the average being constructed during the twelve months immediately preceding the war. The loial under eotislrmfion in oilier countries was 1.185,710 tons including •JIB.OOO mi which work was suspended. Tht' tonnage actually building in the world was 2,300.000, winch is 1,057.000 la-low the highest pre-war record, on 13th June 1013. The world’s launchings last quarter ; were 537.781 tons, of which 200,588 j were launched in Britain and Ireland ! !)(!,375 in Germany and Dan.-hg.
