LATE LOCALS.
The Kokuta.ili Dairy Factory Cov., Ltd., forwarded per .Messrs On* Bros, t.eyland motor lorry on Thursday, a slilj iiieiii of foot* tons of butter to •Lyttelton. Leaving Hokitika at 0.J9 a.m.. the lorry with its load reached Arthur's Pass at 3.39 p.m., and tho butter was at once loaded into trucks for railage to Lyttelton. The return journov was made to Hokitika by 11.30 p.m'. The test to the lorry, owing to the soft nature of the road was one of the severest that it eoukl he put to carrying its maximum load, but the task was accomplished .successfully.
