ARAHFRA FAT STOCK SATA On Wednesday last at the above Yards the special fortnightly Xmas Sale of fat stock was held, the yarding consisting of 112 prime fat Jambs. 7 hoggets, 02 fat sheep and 45 head of prime cattle. There was a very failattendance of buyers and while the demand for fat cattle' was below the normal requirements, sheep and in particular lambs, sold remarkably well. a shipload of the latter on behalf of Mr Norman Friend of Okarito .being spiritedly competed for. In consequence of the limited demand for cattle several pens were passed. Beef made varying prices from 25s to 28s per hundred for ox 20s to 26s for heifer, while cow beef was practically unsaleable. Lamb made to o|d per lb, and good wethers were easily 6d per lb. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co., made tlie following sales: —Sheep.—On account of Mr W. O'Reilly 26 lambs at 245, 7 shorn hoggets at 27s 6d. On nccount Mr T. O’Neill 44 prime shorn wethers at 31 3d. On account Mr Norman Friend 43 shorn wethers at 29s 3d. 35 Inmhs at 28s, and 34 lambs at 265. On account Mr Donovan 21 lambs at 27s 3d and 14 fat sheep at 275. Cattle—On account Mr Norman Friend 2 f„t bullocks’ at £lO 10s, 2 at £9 17s 6d; 4 f,t £8; 2 at £7 l'ss; 1 heifer at £8 2s Od, 2 at £7 10s, 2 at £7 ss, 1 at £8 2s 6d, at £6 ss, 2at£o 2s Od. and 2 at £6. The next Sale at these yards has been fixed by the Butchers to take place on Monday the Bth. January next pt IJ.SQ. a,m- sharp.
