The quality was very indifferent except in the case of a. few outstanding lines of both ewes I and wethers. Owing to the large lamb 1 sales the mutton sale did not start 1 until late ill. the afternoon and at .the I time of writing this report fhe sale had i not finished. The market opened I slightly firmer than last week and | owing to butchers having to secure a 1 fortnight’s supply, and also to the competition of the freezing buyers. 1 he market remained fairly firm throughout at about, last week’s rates.
