POLLARD’S PICTURES. PRINCESS THEATRE TO-NIGHT. Mystery-subtle and vet poignant in its denouement holds the attention in “The, Forbidden Tiling.” The Spiritual arrayed against the physical in the race for love. Romance flees before her and tragedy stalks behind her. She. the physical attraction, reigns for a. day—reigns through an awful day—and then comes the light. James Kirkwood plays the part of Abel Blake, descendant of the Pilgrim Fathers. His characterisation is the best thing he has ever done. Helen Jerome Eddv is seen in a role admirably suited to her. As Joan she is loeable and sweet throughout the play. Marcia Mnnon plays tho part of the dashing Portuguese maiden with finesse as well as finish. I lie direction shows the fine hand of Allan Dwan at his best. None of the finer touches, none of the human interest element — nothing in fact, has been omitted that would add to the suspense and dra T motic power of “The lorbidden Thing ” The supports are Gaumont Graphic, “Reformers” (comedy,l and “A Trip on a Runaway Train,” educational scenic. McLEAH’S PICTURES. “AFFAIR OF ANATOE”.—FRIDAY. Cecil l’>. de .Mille’s wonderful creation “The Affairs of Anatol,” produced in nine reels of magnificent splendour, will be the enormous attraction at the Princess Theatre on Friday night. Do Mille’s name is guarantee enough for anything, but this is one of his masterpieces. It has for four weeks overcrowded the Sydney Globe Theatre, and broke box office records wherever shown.
