QUEENSLANDERS ENTERTAINED [ l!V TELEGRAPH —-PER PRESS ASSOCIATION: WELLINGTON, Dec. 19 The Queensland howlers were entertained to-day with a delightful trip round the Mutt Valley, Day’s Bay, and Eastbourne. The Lower Hutt gave them a cordial reception, the pavilion being decorated with flowers, and the ladies gracefully doing the honours. Lunch was provided at Day’s Bay, and the guests were shown round some of the residents’ gardens, which are noted for their charm and natural beauty, set amidst undisturbed bush. At the Eastbourne green, a Mayoral reception was tendered. Supported by Mr T. M. Wilfo:d, M.P., a Maori liaka was given by members of the Eastbourne club. A match was played which resulted as follovs:—New Zealand 101, Queensland 91 President Archibald expressed the Queenslanders’ appreciation at the intensity of the welcome and a return visit has been requested.
