In connection with the licensing poll, the official totals in 46 of the electorates are: Continuance 175,060 State Control “. 24,846 Prohibition 186,508 Majority for Continuance 13,398 ASHBURTON VOTE ASHBURTON, December 20. For the Ashburton licensing polling the official returns are: Prohibition 3,025 State Control 436 Continuance 3,540 LOCAL OPTION POLL. Restoration 3,857 No-License 3,121 On the three-fifths majority basis Restoration was 820 short of being carried.
