Cecil Hadficld, who is now awaiting svi]fence for burglary, was convicted and fined £5 for being in unlawful possession of a revolver. The ratepayers yesterday carried a loan proposal for £90,000 for further electrical development, by 441 votes to 45. The present and prospective profits are sufficient to meet charges on tho new loan, without additional rating. A proposal to borrow £3250 for the purchase of a recreation' ground was also carried by a substantial majority. .MINING RETURNS. AUCKLAND, Dec 16. Concentrator. — Alill operated 313 hours and treated 3473 tons ore, producing 391 tons pig concentrates and 709 tons flotation concentrates.
