THE IRISH PROBLEM.

Huge crowds of people to-day witnessed the final evacuation of the British troops from Dublin City General MeCready, on behalf of Britain, jhanded over the military headquarters to General Mulcahv, Head of the Irish Free State Army. General Mulcahy’s first act, after the courtesies of the departure of the British forces, was to hoist the White, Green and Orange tricolour of the Irish Free State. ~ The Free- State troops next paraded the streets, and took over the various barracks. They then assembled, and were reviewed by General Mulcahy. A difference in the bearing of the British forces and the Free State troops was most marked.- - . A . , . General Mulcahy was overheard td v tell the Dublin Guards: “For Gods sake, put your shoulders back! Try to lodic like soldiers!”
