A meeting of the Board of Health was held to-dav; the Hon C. J. Parr (Minister of Public Health) presiding. The question of carrying out the recommendations of the- recent commission on maternity mortality was discussed, and some interesting figures were furnished by the Health Department showing the number of deaths from puerperal septicaemia, and how they were distributed between public hospitals, private hospitals, and private homes.
