Great interest has been created recently bv the Supreme Court case brought by Robert Gould and four other watersiders against the Wellington Union claiming a mandamus orderling the Union to recognise them as members of the Union, and an injunction against the Union representing them as non financial, and £5Ol damages. The position arose out of plaintiffs objecting to pay a Union levy of £l, and described as a fighting fund and otherwise'.. Justice Hosking heard lengthy evidence and reserved his decision. In the courso of another case in Chambers to-day, Justice Hosking gave a- forecast of his decision, which he will deliver on Friday, by saying that be will find.that the levy was invalid, and that he would deal fully with the consequences of that decision.
