WOOL SALES. WELLINGTON, Dec. 8. The New Zealand loan and Merean--1 tile Agency C>., Ltd. reports on the : Wellington wool sales on 7tli. December. The second Wellington wool sale , took place and catalogues totalled about ; 15.000 hales, consisting of representnI tivc clips from Wnirnrnpn, West Coast ; Marlborough and Nelson districts. A very good attendance of buyers, representing all Home, American. Continental and Japanese houses, also the usual operators on behalfAif Dominion mills, scourers and speculators. Bidding on i the whole was spirited although at times was irregular. Excellent prices were obtained. If anything • super crossbreds were a shade lower than the November price. On the other hand coarse wools were appreciably higher. In fine crossbreds 46/48 suitable for Americans, prices were easier to the ex!cut of :Rl to Id, an average quality ruling at par with November prices, while inferior sorts were }(1 to Id higher. Medium crossbreds 44/46. We have to report American sorts at about par while average quality was $d better and inferior Id higher. Coarse crossbreds 40/44 showed average ad- I value of Id per Hi. T.ow crossbreds 30/40s also appreciated to the extent of :<d to Id per Hi. There was a keen j demand for lambs wool, of which veiv little was forthcoming at this sale, j Bellies pieces locks and ciutchings were met much hotter sale. Our offer- . lug was on the whole slightly- bettci in quality than that of November, j although the catalogue contained'a con- j siderahle quantity of old wools.
