GENERAL ELECTION.

MR SEDDON AT BLAKETOWN. Mr Seddon continued his tour in North Westland yesterday, and spoke af Blaketowii last night. There was a crowded attendance, and a very gooo meeting. Question time proved a lively interval, but Mr Seddon’s answers, like bis main address, met with hearty approbation. Mr A. H. McKane presided over the meeting which was in good humor throughout, and at its close a vote of thanks and confidence was accorded to Mr Seddon for his address and in his candidature. Mr Seddon speaks at Kaiata tonight, and at Grevmouth Opera House on Monday night. Further particulars in respect to Mr Seddon’s Blaketowii meeting last night indicate that some supporters of Labor rather set about an attempt to upset the proceedings, and to secure only t-lio passing of a vote of thanks. The efforts were frustrated, as the synn patliies of the large audience were with the candidate. A number of carefully prepared questions were put to Mr Seddon who replied promptly to the questions and carried the meeting almost entirely with him greatly to the discomfort of the questioners. In the end, Ur R. Olsen proposed and Mr G. Mayo seconded the motion of confidence which the audience adopted with marked approbation.
