Canterbury Automobile Association.

A meeting of the AA’estland branch j of the above Association was held in j thci County Chambers last evening at : 7.30 o’clock. There was n good nttemlj mice.. Air G. Davidson presided. Apologias were made for the absence of -Air AlcAlannaw ly and Mrs Butler. Tho Secretary (Dr Teichelmann) read the minutes of the previous meeting and the inward and outward correspondence. The quesiou of a combined motor run and picnic with Urn Greymculh branch was left in the hands of a subcommittee to arrange, It was. decided to bold ,tt towards the end of January and somewhere lip the Christchurch road in the vionity of the AA':iinihinilii. M.r Davidson report,.! the result of the interview with the County Council on the proposed mo'or-tax, and it was understood that some amendments were to ho made in the proposed tax. Mr Mclntosh called attention to the necessity of providing culverts on vnr-

iorc; parts of the road between the Mikoimi and Fergusons. It was decided to ask the Public AA'orks Department to ((insider tins mutter while improving that part of the road. It was also decided to petition the Ross Borough Council to put the. lower road to tho Miknitu! in order now that there was no further sluicing done by tho A 1 ont D’Or. The Secretary called attention to the large number of members in arrears with their subscriptions and issued membership cards to members requiring same. These membership cards carrv advantages with them in the way of diminished hotel charges in the hotels of the South Island.
