Remarkable evidence "as given at an enquiry into tho death of an elderly woman, Matilda Jackson, who was foui I dead, hound hand and foot, at her home at Sandy Bay. The engagement was several times broken off, owing to trivial causes. Then Waterson was to arrive and drive the. assailant out, and release the victim. Evidence was also given that Waterson offered variously £4O to £7O to a man yvlio did the job, and that Waterson and another man were seen to enter Jackson's house on the day of the tragedy.
