GENERAL ELECTION.
Yesterday Mr Seddon devoted attention to portion -of .the Central Riding of Westland County. Lake Kanieri road was visited, as'also Lower Kokntalii road and Woodstock. Mr Seddon spoke twice in the .livening. At ,tlit Pilblie Hall, Kanieri, there was a .full . attendance for the political meeting, and the proceedings were marked with the greatest- enthusiasm. Mr T. B CUcsterman, M .C.C.J.wns ill the -chair, and presided over a very cordial assemblage. Mr Seddfttt’s address whs well received throughout, and tlier* was a pronounced feeding of support in the way the vote of thanks and confidence was carried. Tile mover of the motion was Air D. j. Hutchison and the seconder, -Mr W. ,S. McFadyen. At Riniu later, Aff Seddon bad an excellent meeting—a, good attendance and a capital hearing. The political address was closely followed and war warmly applauded, the speech evidently creating a very healthy atmosphere in favor of alie candidate. Altogether Mr Seddon’s exposition of the politicalquestions seemed both a delight and a pleasure to a very pleased audience. Mr E. A. Wells, M.C.’C;, was the pre- t siding Chairman, and the motion of 1 thanks and confidence was proposed bv Ml P. Webster, and seconded in. different quarters, MV R. Wells, a re- j turned man, being named as the sc-; cornier of tlio motion'.
To-night Mr Seddon will deliver a political address in the Opera House at 8 o’clock, the Mayor"(Mr Perry) presiding. M R LYNCH’S CAMPAIGN. (Contributed). Mr J. T). Lynch (West Coast Progressive candidate) continuing his campaign held several meetings yesterday and judging by the manifestations of approval from his audiences at three open-air meetings, his policy met with their cordial support. He first spoke at Kitmara Junction, and from there Mr Lynch journeyed south to Goldsliorough and .Stafford. At Goldsburotigh, upwards of forty people listened to an eloquent address, and at the coilelusion a vote of thanks was'accorded the candidate on tlie motion of tlio chairman, Air Routhun.
At Stafford, another large audience, was met, and Mr S a mile in the chair, briefly introduced Mr Lynch. At the conclusion of the address lasting three quarters of an horn, Mr Lynch was accorded a vote of,‘thanks oil the motion of Air .1. Griffon, seconded by Mr Tommy. At the One Alile Hall, Araluira, Afr T|vucli addressed another good audience. after being briefly introduced by the chairman, Mr Ward. Air Lynch delivered an awress lasting an Lour and a half, on the same lines as Monday's Grevmouth address. At the conclusion, the customary vote of thanks was passed on the motion of Air Win. To-day Afr Lynch speaks at Tvokntalii, and Koiterangi, and to-morrow nt Hokitika Opera House.
