POLLARD'S PICTURES. On Thursday a distinct departure from tlie usual type of picture in which Katherine MacDonald is starred is “Stranger than Fiction” at the Princess Theatre. Different in the sense that it combines all the elements of humour, pathos, suspense and appeal in addition to the other values of the histrionic work of the screen’s most beautiful woman, “Stranger than Fiction” is a striking feature. Miss MacDonald plays the part of Diane Drexel, ( wealthy society girl, whose social career is voluntarily interrupted one: evening when she decides that she will take an active part in running down the Black Heart Gang—a band of; crooks who have looted the guests at the Drexel homo of all their jewels. A pleasing feature of “Stranger than Fiction” is the fact that Wesley Barry is a prominent member of the supporting cast. He has the part of a little streeturchin who, through his pathetic whimsicalities appeals to the society girl. Incidentally Freckles looms large in the climax which comes when his benefactor and her fiance are trapped in the den of the Black Heart Gang.
