A fire which resulted in £IO,OOO -terling damage to adjoining premises, caused a scare among a big audience in the Theatre Royal. A stampede was starting when Detione, a leading member of the Theatre orchestra, seizing a fiddle commenced playing, and with his wife jazzed about the stage. The audience gradually quietened and resumed their scats. They were dispersed quietly a little later, ]>v order of the firemen in view of the threatened spread of the flames. WOOL SALKS.
