AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. PARTICULARS OF VOTING. LONDON, Nov. 16. Excitement in London increased as the evening wore on, especially when Labour victories at Barnsley, at the Henley division of Stoke. up-on-Trent and at Accrington were announced on illuminated screens in Trafalgar Square and on the newspaper offices on the Strand and in Fleet Street. There were also loud cheers when some popular Independent (like IVarc for Stoke division of Stoke up-on-Trent) was re-elected. It is estimated at least 20,000 motors were placed at the disposal of candidates. Many had 50 or 60 employee bringing voters to the poll. The Labourites had more ears thai ever before.
Mr Ramsay MacDonald is in for A be ra von division of Glamorganshire,' wresting the seat from a supporter of Mr Lloyd George.
There was a great reversal at Oxford where the Conservative majority of 5000 was converted into a Liberal majority of 3800.
Though failing to secure the Liverpool exchange seat, Mr Joe Devlin (the former Irish Nationalist M.P.) ran within 3000 of Sir Leslie Scott the sitting Conservative member. Mr Bonar Law and Mr Asquith have been returned.
Mr Asquith's majority was tinder 400 compared with 3000 in 1918. Mr Trey burg was defeated at South Cardiff. Lady Astor was returned for Sutton division of Plymouth; Mr K. Macnamara for Northwest Cliamherwell ; Mr Inskip for-Central Bristol. The women candidates fared badly. The defeated ones include Dame Gttrynne Vaughan at North Camberwell, Mrs Oliver Strackey for Brentford and tlie Clieswiek division of Middlesex; Mrs Eleanor Rathbone for East Foxteth, division of Liverpool. The sitting Conservative Mr James, retained Bromley, Forster’s old seat.

In the elections a sensation was oaused at Battersea North through Mr Saklatvala an Indian Extremist, defeating the National Liberal candidate by 2000 votes.,
Sir R. Horne was returned for Hill Head division of Glasgow with a slightly increased majority.
Mr Grigg (National Liberal) headed the poll at Oldham, Lady Eminott being at the bottom. Mr Stanley (Under Secretary of Home Affairs) was defeated at Preston, where the Labourite topped the poll’.
Mr dynes (Labour) who was not opposed in 1918. was returned for Platting division of Manchester, but only through the splitting of U-e antiLabour vote. The combined LiberalConservative vote exceeded Labour. Mr Leslie Wilson is the second Minister whose defeat has been announced. Mr Krskine (Independent Conservative) is winning St. George’s division of Westminster by 3500. Addison was defeated at Shoreditch by a National' Liberal. The Australian, Mr Harris (N.Z.) wpn Southwest Bethnal Green. Mr Lynch waif at the bottom of the poll at Central Hackney. Mr Pownall was returned for East Lewisham.
There were pathetic scenes in Tyrone and Fermanagh (Ulster), when the excitement was so great that aged, sick and infirm people were taken from their beds and carried on stretchers to record their votes.

Hon Pona.r Law’s majority at Central Glasgow was reduced to 2,500 over Labour, while Labour and Liberal combined polled four votes more than the Premier. STATE OF PARTIES. (Received this dav at 8 a.m.) LONDON. Nov 16. The state of the parties is Conservatives—l6s. Liberals—36. National Liberals—22. Labour—67. Various—7. Mr Thomas was re-elected. Cnservatives gained two and lost six seats. National Liberals lost 5 with no gains. Labour lost 1 and gained 8. Hon Montagu was defeated for Cambridgeshire.
