MR LYNCH’S CAMPAIGN. (Contributed). At Hatter’s Terrace -on Tuesday evening over 100 residents attended HjLr Lynch’s political address. Mr P. Donnellan presided and referred to Mr Lynch’s old time connection with Nelson Creek district. Air Lynch gave a lengthy address covering, a great deal of ground. He dealt extensively with local needs and the neglect of the. goldmining district as which, Nelson Crpek was once so famous. At the. conclus.ion of the meeting the usual vote of thanks was passed on the motion oi Messrs A. Weenink and A. Brown. Subsequently suggestions, were made about; forming a committee, >lt but the candidate expressed once again to the supporters that he preferred them to work individually and not form committees as ■he considered tlie electors should be left free to use their own judgment, and ho was personally content to leave himself in the hands ol the people at the ballot box. At Ngahere the same evening. Mr •T. D. Lvneii addressed another large audience' of electors numbering over GO. Mr Dave Armstrong occupied the chair. The reception accorded Mr Lynch was splendid and he said Ik had no doubt in is own mind as to the result of the contest on polling day. At Kanieri the chair was taken by .Mi- .). Hutchison who said it was unnecessary to introduce the candidate or to ask a fair hearing, he would get it in Kanieri. Air Lynch greeted with applause saut he was happy to be amongst so many friends. He was offering his services on tiie same platform as three years ago when unfortunately tho doctors withdrew hint from the contest owing to his illness from pneumonic influenza, lie had to remind them of this because .sonic opponents were circulating rumours that he would pull out. He assured tiie audience amidst applause that ho would not pull out. but with the magnificent support his candidature is meeting lit' hoped with their support that the 7th December would proclaim him as tljeir member. Air Lynch dealt fully freely amt fearlessly with leading political probies of tiie day and while extolling Mr Massey, Don Coates and other members of tlie Reform Fairy claimed that any of the Acts and Regulations made of late years militated against the advancement of the Coast. lie spoke for an hour and a quarter covering an immense' quantity of matter and concluded a most able address by asking the electors Jo support a doer for the Coast. Air Af. Clancey moved a hearty vote of thanks and confidence and Air J. Lock seconded, but before putting same the candidate asked to have the motion amended to one of thanks only, lie preferred to have their confide nee at the ballot, box on election day. Tiie motion was carried amidst applause. Air Lynch following Kanieri addressed another gathering at Rimu to a. large attendance including many ladies. ITo expressed gratitude again for so many friends rallying round him. Air E. AA’ells occupied the chair and asked lor the usual courtesy.

Air Lynch again spoke for over an hour on similar lines to his Kanieri address except that he strongly advocated the establishment of a Sick and .Accident Fund amongst tbo sawinillers oil similar lines to the coal miners Sjck and Accident Fund of halfpenny per toil on the coal output. He dealt with tho treatment of tho gold producers from whom Government bought gold ait £4 per o z. and failed to return the getter the value of over five pounds per oz. which it received. Immigration. Education, Finance, Trade; and important subjects " T ere dealt with exhaustively, extensively and fearlessly by tbo speaker who had a thorough grasp of bis subjects. The speaker uas Frequently applauded during his address, and at the conclusion answered many questions put before him. Air J. Nancekivell moved a hearty vote of thanks which Air j. Cooper seconded, and was carried with applause.
