Stow, applying for right to sell ice creams at corner of Sewell Street and Gibson Quay.—Received; referred to Mayor aid Town Clerk 1 with power to act. From Sei-gt. King, in reference to the request for an extension 'of the hours for billiard rooms from 10 to 11 p.m., and objecting to any extension of tlie hours beyond 10 p.in.—Received; Mr Lloyd moved that in view of the Sergeant’s report, the request by Mr Wilmot for an extension of the hours from 10 to 11 p.m., be refused. Seconded by the Mayor and carried. From Public Trust Office acknowledging receipt of instalment on abattoir loan account.—Received. From J. Myers, asking for an approach to his residence and for water connection. —Received and referred to Public Works Committee. From W. Connor applying for 6. weeks leave of absence.—Received and , arrangements already made. From Captain Jacobs, inviting the Mayor and Council to give a civic welcome to Commissioner and Mrs Hog-, gard on their approaching visit to Westland.—Received and action of Mayor in agreeing approved. ’From R. Paterson, applying for re-, fund of itinerary licqjise of £5, in ac-, cord a nee with the Borough bye-laws.—, Tteceired and acceded to. Froth G. Venle, offering £2 per: year rent for lease of reserve and askiiig for extended tenure.—Received; referred to the Mayor to attend to From West Coast Caledonian Societyapplying for use of Cass Square for sports on New Years’ Day.— Received; request 'granted on usual conditions. .

Jarman) reporting there were examined during (October [0 cows. 28 heifers 72 bullocks. 313 sheep, 2 lambs, 18 pigs, 2 calves. Condemned nil. Fees for period £7O Is fid.—Received. It wiis resolved to procure 50 loads of grit for asphalting work. Mr Pilkington asked that attention be given to the cleaning up and repairing of the Clock Tower and tile Pioneers Memorial. - "Resolved ttint tlie Public Woiks Committee give early attion thereto.
