TROTTING.
A TROTTING ENQUIRY. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 8. At the New Zealand Trotting Association, F. Johnston of Sydney, appeared before the Board and gave evidence regarding Lord Roanschild and Don Caesar, which lie had obtained through J. Bryce, and had subsequently sold to two purchasers, said to lie from Java. He stated he had not seen the horses since he had sold them, nor had he seen the men who bought them. He was subjected to a close cross examination lasting over two and a half hours. After a long discussion it was decided that the matter he held over for further inquiry and that, the certificate of registration of Escort ownc.d by Johnston he cancelled.
TROTTING APPLICATION REFUSED. CHRISTCHURCH. Nov 7. At a mee.ting of the Board of the New Zealand Trotting Association, correspondence was received from the Westport Jockey Club asking if the Association would give its consent to the Club running a programme of seven trotting events during the Christmas .holidays. In this connection a memorandum was received from the Executive of the Trotting Conference, stating that the Minister of Internal Affairs Lad asked whether the Conference would approve of such a programme, and it had been decided te inform him that the Conference) had no objection to offer.
