I Hi: A\ cstlainl Chamber of Commerce is entering upon the seventh year of its existence, and the annual meeting held on Tuesday, served to draw spocial attention to Hie operations of the Chamber in the inteiosts of the district. The annual report read at the meeting covered a range of subjects which indicated the various activities past, present, and future, and while it. is satisfactory that so much has been attempted in tile past, there remains still a eonsidorble programme for the future. Tile personnel of the body has given the work in hand consistent support, and the matters taken up in the public interests are such as to delerve the practical patronage of the business community to the operations of the Chamber. The half-dozen mat'.ers nr so to ho taken up this year call or a persistent effort on the part of he Chamber, and if that body is apim iited at its right value there will >o every legitimate support on the inrt of the people to assist the Chainin' to go forward in the self-imposed iffort to advance Westland.
