Park Street, Hqkitikn. My Dear Mary, Your note to limul a»id now I realise why you are called “Clover Maty”. I do envy you getting through washing day so quickly and cheerfully, thanks to your economical gas copper. I still use the old stoking copper and what a day T had yesterday. The wood was wet, the coal was wet, and it took no end of stoking to make the water I roil. It was late in , the day before 1 had the clothes oa the line, and the shower in the late afternoon spailed the drying I worked far into the night trying to get tho washing nwav. Had to have a big fire in the kitchen nil the evening to dry off tho clothes. I showed your note to .Tim and T think he was sympathetic. Anyhow he said he would call at W. H. Shannon’s in Bevell Street and see what could l>e done, so I hope to get through next week’s washing as comfortably aa you do. Foil of hope and expects-, fciop, with Ipve, Yours Faithfully, POROTHY YOUKNOW.
