POLLARD’S PICTURES. “THE GIRL OF MV BREAMS.” TO-NIGHT. Miss Billie Rhodes who starred in “The Girl of My Dreams” finds herself more satisfactorily placed in this clever story of love in the hills than in any previous role. The story was written by Wilbur Xesbit, author of “Your Flag and My Flag,” a classic of war-time verso. Cast “Tho Weed” a. beautiful little mountain kill, innocent of conventions and contemptuous of “tho rags of civilisation,” Miss Rhodes is afforded the opportunity to display her really amazing versatility, and the characterisation is one that is certain to add vastly to her fame. "The Girl of My Dreams” is a love story, of course, hut it is a love story that has a good hearty laugh in it here and there. The beauty of this story is that ■it is natural and frcsiiingly original. A two reel comedy and Topical Budget will also b« shown.
On Thursday “A Broken Doll” is the title of the comedy drama produced by Allan Dwan for Associated Producers at the Princess Theatre on Thursday. The cast enacting the picture is all star and includes such favorites as .Monte Blue. Mary Thurman, Marv Jane Irving and others. Tlie story told concerns the incidents that befell a country boy, an orphan, when he obtained work on a Californian ranch. Monte Blue as the hero, has a role eminently suited to his particular talents in portraying a country boy and is given excellent support by Miss Mary Jane Irving. Monte Blue does some remarkable acting as Tommy Dawes, the hoy who has found a job on the ranch and finally woos and wins the pretty daughter of the sheriff. Some fine scenic backgrounds of Southern California. add to tliw beauty of the production. A two reel comedy “Short and Snappy.” Gaumont Graphic and a scenic will also l>e shown.
