A combined meeting of the execu lives of the Auckland lirnnch of the Educational Institute, Aucklnnd Se(ondnrv Schools Teachers’ Association, and Tecb.nical School Teachers’ Association, lias decided that the following question should be nut to the candidates:—“Seeing that a high general level of education is. necessary to secure the social peace and material prosperity of the nation, will you pledge, yourself to resist any proposal to reduce educational expenditure and thereby impair educational efficiency.” KENNEDY ASHORE AGAIN. The local agents for the stcamei Kennedy received a message from Foxton on Saturday morning that the Kennedy was ashore on South Spit ilamiwalu Heads, at the mouth of the Fo xtou river. The message added that it was expected that tile Kennedy would be refloated this week. About a vear ago tile Kennedy went aground while entering the Foxton river. After being lightened she was floated oil unharmed.
