Paddy’s Market.
SATURDAY'S GALA TIME, A s the event draws nearer interest in the success of Paddy’s Market grows. The .cvont is fixed for next Saturday afternoon on Cass Square, and will draw a large attendance of town and country people. The ladies interested in promoting the gala time are working very enthusiastically and mean to make the occasion a notable financial success. The whole of the proceeds go to the Hokitika Beautifying Society which will expend the money for the benefit of the town. There will be a variety of goods on the stalls ranging from vegetables to all kinds of household furniture and nick-nacks. The Christmas tree will he a feature of the local display. Refreshments of all kinds will he procurable, and many games will he provided. Bowling and golf competitions will he in progress atnl there will bo dancing on the green. The Cycling Club will conduct cycling and' athletic events in accordance with the programme published, the handicaps for which will he published to-morrow. In addition there will he events for the children -who will be admitted free. Sundry side shows are to he running, the aim being to catch the nimble shilling as often, as possible for the good of the town. As the slogan of the Society saysHokitika is our town —it is up to all of us to help to beautify it—and there will be mucn fun and enjoyment in coimbutmg our mite to the good work in hand.
