Tho Barrier Roof; its beautiful coral gardens, Thursday Islands, its pearl divers: Papua, its strange birds, its weird and wild people; is vast goblin dens where gruesome relics of cannibalism are evident on all sides. Tills is part of a letter written by Captain Frank Hurley to his numerous friends in New Zealand, regarding his latest screen masterpiece “Pearls and Savages.” Captain Pearson, one of Hurley’s expedition members, travels with the picture and lectures each night on this big feature.
