Mr llichard Pooley, aged (55, tin employee tit Chelsea Sugar Works. was struck by a falling pile of bags of sugar, sustaining a fractured leg anil internal injuries. He died when going to the hospital. He leaves a grown-up family. SEAMEN'S STRIKE. AUCKLAND, October 30. It is stated that great discontent exists among the seamen and firemen over the Arbitration Court’s recent award. The crew of the Northern Company’s steamer “Clansman” gave 24 hours’ notice this afternoon, giving no reason. The vessel is still timed to sail for Mangonui at 7 p.m. to-motrow, if another crew can I>e obtained.
