IMPORTANT FINANCIAL PROPOSALS.
TO ASSIST FARMERS’ ASSOCIATIONS. SPECIAL TO GUARDIAN. WELLINGTON, Oct. ,'2B. The statement of tlie Prime Minister in introducing a Bill in the expiring hours of the session providing a million and a half for the assistance of emhnrrassed Co-operative Farmers’ Associations produced something like a sensation in the lobbies of the House, and financial circles here. Apart from the inopportune time for the introduction of such legislation, business men regard the step as ill advised, and likely to belittle the permanent benlit of the institutions concerned. Strong representations to this effect are being made to Mr Massey by the Chamber of Commerce and similar bodies, and by many individuals. Probably the Bill will be introduced this (Saturday) afternoon.
