[liv TEI-KORAI'II —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION] mjxrcniN, Oct. 25 At Port. Chalmers, -Mi' .1. Stephens, Labour candidate lor the Chalmers electorate, outlined the programme of the Labour Party and condemned Mr Massey’s taxation remission provisions a< being in favour of the bin financial interests. He contrasted this treatment with that, meted out to civil servants and others who had suffered wage reductions. The candidate advocated a resumption of trade with the llaltic States. He said that the currency difficulty would he overcome by a system of exchange of Roods. He urged that the small farmer should unite with the Labour Party, and that it was not the workers, hut the financial interests, that were the farmers’ real enemy. The candidate was given an attentive hearing, and a vote of thanks. ACCKLAND. Oct. 27
