A deputation consisting of Messrs Coates, Stapleton, Sloe and Evans was set up to wait on the Resident Engineer and Railway Traffic Manager, relative to through traffic from Canterbury for the Christmas and Now Year meetings, and following the interview the Government to be approached in respect to the matters considered necessary. It was not considered advisable to mane a uniform scale for nominations and acceptances, nor to fix any special day or hour for closing entries.
