EMPIRE EXHIBITION.
AUSTRALIA’S SHARE. SYDNEY, Oot 12. Tho Commonwealth and State Governments have decided to combine in tho collection and erection of a large comprehensive exhibit to represent Aus tralia nit the British Empire Exhibition to be opened at Wemblv Park, London in April, 1924. An Australian Commission is to be appointed containing leading representatives of the oommereial and financial interests of the Commonwealth. The cost of the. Australian participation in the exhibition lias been limited to £200.00!) of which the Commonwealth will contribute £115,000 and tlie/ States £85,000 among them, on a population basis. The Minister of Customs states that no responsible effort would be spared to make the Australian display worthy of the great opportunity offered to proclaim the resources of the Comiqomvcu Itb. Only Umpire materials and products would be used and consumed during the whole term of the exhibition, which was expected to last for six months, lit was estimated that at least 60,000 people. per day would require feeding, and Australia would participate in providing the necessary supplies.
