Messrs Fox and Sloe, Justices, presided »t the Police Court at Westport, when a Burnett’s Face resident was charged with theft of an overcoat-, rained at £2 10s. Accused borrowed the coat and was making from the Koma.ta when arrested. He stated lie intended to return it on reaching his destination. He was convicted and fined 30s, and the coat was ordered to be returned to the owner. Senior-Sergeant Kynn conducted, the prosecution.
