AN AHAURA ESTATE.
WKLLIXGTOX, Oct 17. Judgment was given in the Supreme Court mi an application under the will of Thomas Henry Garth of Ahaura, who left an estate of £IO,OOO. I'hve daughters, three married, asked for a larger allowance than .£2OO each. The other members of the family made no claim. Judge Heed said lie had decided. with some hesitation to grant an increase. The estate was a large one. compared with the allowance, and Liu l chief legatee through the death of a brother had become entitled to a larger share than was at first devined to him. The Judge gave married daughters £OO extra each and the unmarried daughters £2OO each. ORH’M FINE. WHU.rXGTOX, October 10. Last week a seaman named Hemus. was convicted ol smuggling opium, today a Chinese .100 Lain, was convicted of having two tins of opium in his possession. The police stated that the opium was part of what Hemus smuggled from the Ulimaron. Accused was fined £4O with costs. Ho was also fined £lO with costs for being in possession of a firearm, namely, a revolver, which the police found fully loaded on a table near his bed.
