IUBTItALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. A CURE FOR DIABETES. NEW YORK. Oeiober 14. The University of Pennsylvania, after several experiments with serum supplied by the University of Toronto, has announced that there are indications that this serum is practically an absolute cure for diabetes.

The passengers from the burned steamer, City of Honolulu, were transferred at dawn to the American transport, Thomas from the West Fanollen, which proposes to tow in the City of Honolulu.

NEW YORK, Oct. 14 The Federal Court has granted the White Star Line a temporary restraining order, similar to that (cabled on the 12th) granted three other companies. In both cases the U.S.A. Government must show cause why the Dougherty ruling should be enforced.

FLYING RECORDS. (Received this dav at S a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 14. At Mount Clemens, Michigan, Lieut K. L. Maughau piloting an army Curtiss at a high speed pursuit plane won the Pulitzer special trophy, travelling 1(50 miles at 207 miles per hour. This is a new speed record. Lieut Maitland piloting a sister plane, was second and also established a world’s record travelling 50 kilometres at 216 1-10 miles per hour. The hundred and two hundred kilometres records were also broken hv various dyers.
