The Council met at 2.30 p.m,

The following Bills were passed’ without amendment: —Post and Telegraph Amendment; State Firci Insurance Amendment ; War Disabilities. Removal and Amusement Tax. In the Sea Carriage of Goods Act, the Statutes Revision Committee proposed an amendment, the object of which was to make special provisions for receiving for shipment bills of lading to overcome difficulties in the matter of advancing moneys on letters of credit. The amendment was agreed to and the Bill passed. A slight amendment was made in the Merciilitilo Law Amendment Bid in order to make Clause 2 conform to Clause S of the Sea Carriage of Goods Bill, and the TfiU "'as passed. Wanganui River Trust Amendment Rill and Palmerston North Reserves Amendment Bill were reported without amendment. THE HOUSE. The House met at 2.30 p.iu. The followings Bills were introduced and read a first- time:—Dairy Industry Amendment Bill (Hon Noswortliy); Crimes Amendment Bill. (Hon Lee); Cemeteries .Amendment Bill (Hon Stewart) ; Rating Amendment Bill, (Hon Stewart). following Bills were put through all stages and passed:—Land Laws'Amendment Bill (Hon Guthrie); Electric Powar Board’s Amendment Bill (Hon Coates); Pharmacy Amendment Bill fWou Parr); Judicature Amendment Bill.
