Dr IT. E. Jeffreys, expert in nervous and mental rases, said’that he saw Orr two weeks ago, when he was quite unfit tn appear, lie was now a voluntary patient in a convalescent home at l’orirua, and was very agitated and depressed. Witness considered him a border-line case. He was not getting better.
Replying to Mr Hunt, S.M., wit-nose .said that Orr was l-’kel.v to he pushed over the border-line -if brought tn Court. Mr Hunt: I think lie will have to take the chance. You have a responsibility, and so have f. Unless i have positive evidence of accused’s unfitness I'-- must appear. I wit] adjourn the ca“e for 1 I days, when unless lie is physically unfit to appear, a warrant will he issued.
FREEZING WORK DISPUTE. WELLINGTON. Oct, 4
The freezing companies application for a supplementary award was called before the Conciliation Commissioner. As •at Auckland. Christchurch and Dviicdiii, the unions were not represented. A letter was read stating that there was no dispute affecting the union, which was quite satisfied to chide by the present award. The matter was referred to the Court without recommendation.

A SUICIDE. ■ HAMILTON, Oct 5. At the ' inquest on Thomas Patrick Walslie. a solicitor, Joseph Trotter (taxi driver) said lie calk'd at deceased’s office about 0.30 on Saturday night, ami found Walslie lying on the floor beside a gas ring. Doctor Waddell said at two o’clock deceased who was under the influence of liquor told him lie was done, and that lie intended suiciding Witness told him not- to he silly, and to go home. Deceased agreed to go home saying lie would tight down the suicidal tendency. Death was dim to gas poisoning. The police stated (lie gas meter had run out when they mhv llu* decased. There was half a- bottle til whisky in thu office. The coroner found the deceased committed suicided by inhaling coal gas.
