VEVEY, Switzerland,'July 27 The full account of tho struggle in a snowstorm at an altitude of 12,000 feet hv four members of the Swiss Alpine Club, .which ended in the deatli of two of ilie party, residents of Berne, is told to-day. The party left? Kandersteg, in the Bernese Oherlaml, on Saturday, to climb the Balmhoru (12,175 ft). They had almost reached the summit ouSunday morning when they were slits prised by a heavy snowstorm which made descent hv the same route impossible. The onlv alternative was to make the summit in the hope of finding an easier way down. Alter a teriuu stnu-010 lasting 17 hours, they reached the top. Two of the climbers were too exhausted to continue and grawled under a rock while their comrades hurried forward in search of help. With much difficulty the two reached Kandersteg, where a relief column was, immediately organised.
